The structural analysis software RFEM 6 is the basis of a modular software system. The main program RFEM 6 is used to define structures, materials, and loads of planar and spatial structural systems consisting of plates, walls, shells, and members. The program also allows you to create combined structures as well as to model solid and contact elements.
RSTAB 9 is a powerful analysis and design software for 3D beam, frame, or truss structure calculations, reflecting the current state of the art and helping structural engineers meet requirements in modern civil engineering.
Do you often spend too long calculating cross-sections? Dlubal Software and the RSECTION stand-alone program facilitate your work by determining section properties of various cross-sections and performing a subsequent stress analysis.
Do you always know where the wind is blowing from? From the direction of innovation, of course! With RWIND 2, you have a program at your side that uses a digital wind tunnel for the numerical simulation of wind flows. The program simulates these flows around any building geometry and determines the wind loads on the surfaces.
Are you looking for an overview of snow load zones, wind zones, and seismic zones? Then you are in the right place. Use the Geo-Zone Tool to determine quickly and efficiently snow loads, wind speeds, and seismic data according to ASCE 7‑16 and other international standards.
Would you like to try out the capabilities of the Dlubal Software programs? You have the opportunity to do so! The free 90-day full version allows you to thoroughly test all our programs.
Each license includes the create time and the expiration time from our server. From time to time, our application checks the model's change history and if it is found that the change time is not continuous, it logs out.
Thus, you should ensure that the system times run continuously. If you have upcoming changes to the system time, log out beforehand.
If you activate the WebService settings in order to use the RFEM 6 interfaces (Revit, Tekla Structures, Rhino/Grasshopper, Excel via Plugin) and you still get the error message, proceed as follows:
Check the server port range used by the interface. The port range must match the one set in the Program Options of RFEM 6.
The error message remains if the default server port range (8081-8089) is otherwise occupied. Set a different server port range in the Program Options in RFEM 6, such as 10001-10009.
It is also necessary to adjust this server port range accordingly for the respective interface.

Yes, you can. Move your mouse pointer over the node and wait a moment. A bubble with the node coordinates will appear.
Yes, you can. In RFEM 5 and RSTAB 8, you can use the cross-sections created with SHAPE‑THIN 8 and SHAPE‑THIN 9.
You can hide the undeformed geometry in the Display tab of the navigator by deactivating the Model check box:
The Tower Design add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
The Piping Design add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
The Craneway Design add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
The SCIA .xml format is intended for data exchange with RFEM 5. Due to the reprogramming of RFEM 6, the .xml file formats of SCIA and RFEM 6 are not compatible.
A simple solution is to export from SCIA in the SAF 1.0.5 format. This can be imported into RFEM 6.
The Harmonic Response Analysis add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
In RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9, the calculation parameters are no longer managed in a dialog box of the same name, but in the form of Static Analysis Settings in the Load Cases and Combinations category in the navigator.
There are tree analysis types preset:
You can adjust the parameters of these analysis types or create more types.
In the "Load Cases & Combinations" dialog box, you can then assign the relevant static analysis setting (SA) to the load cases and load combinations.
The Glass Design add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
The Concrete Foundations add-on for foundation design is still in development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
We usually release a new version of RFEM 6 / RSTAB 9 every Monday; means, four versions per month.
You are informed about a new version on the Extranet and in the Dlubal Center. There you will also find the links to download the versions.
The setting for torsion in the Strength Configuration works together with the torsion limit set, and it is on purpose for it to be always on the safe side. Below, you find short explanations for each option:Check torsional limit only:In this case, the ratio torsion check is compared to the torsion limit. If the ratio is smaller than the limit, then nothing is done. If the ratio is bigger than the torsion limit, an error will be shown in the design check. The error is then the most governing design check in the graphical and tabular results. According to Timber Construction Manual:In this case, design is according to the Timber Construction Manual 4.6, and the result is a typical design ratio based on the calculation.Ignore torsion:This case is very similar to the first option. The ratio is compared from the torsion calculation with the torsion limit. If the ratio is smaller than the limit, then nothing is done. If the ratio is bigger than the limit, then a warning is shown in the design check. This warning will not be a governing design check in the results tables or graphics. The main reason it is shown at all is for safety. If you do not want to see the warning at all, then the limit of torsion must be increased.
The Timber Joints add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
Please note that the enveloping results are usually shown when displaying the results of design situations or result combinations.
There are three options to graphically display the results of deformations, internal forces, and support forces: Max and Min-values can be displayed separately. To display both envelopes from the extreme values on the model, select Max and Min-values.
The Cutting Patterns add-on is still under development. Therefore, it cannot be activated in the Base Data.
If you receive an RFEM 6 or RSTAB 9 file for further processing, the structures will be displayed in the program using the display settings of the last editor.
If this display does not meet your own requirements, you can simply right-click the free area of the Navigator – Display and select "Dlubal Standard". This returns the settings to the default values.
